Our Commitment
At House of Books, every collection is handpicked with care. We are confident in the quality of our products — but we understand that sometimes things don't work out. That is why we offer a straightforward, no-hassle refund policy.
Eligibility for a Refund
You are eligible for a full refund if:
- You contact us within 30 days of your delivery date
- The books are in their original, unread condition and original packaging
- You have your order number or email confirmation as proof of purchase
How to Request a Refund
- Email us at support@houseofbooks.com with your order number and the reason for your return
- We will respond within 24–48 hours with return instructions
- Ship the items back to the address we provide
- Once received and inspected, your refund will be processed within 5–10 business days
Refunds are returned to your original payment method. You will receive a confirmation email once the refund has been processed.
Return Shipping Costs
Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer, unless the reason for return is:
- A defective or damaged item received
- An incorrect item sent by us
- A missing item from your order
In these cases, we will provide a prepaid return label or arrange collection at no cost to you.
Damaged or Defective Items
If your order arrives damaged or with a defect, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with:
- Your order number
- A clear photo of the damaged or defective item
- A brief description of the issue
We will arrange a free replacement or issue a full refund — whichever you prefer. No return necessary for damaged items in most cases.
Exchanges
We do not currently offer direct exchanges. If you would like a different product, please return your original order for a refund and place a new order at your convenience.
Gift Box Add-On
The premium gift box add-on is refundable if returned within 30 days in its original, unopened condition. Once the gift packaging has been opened or used, it is non-refundable.
Non-Returnable Items
The following are not eligible for return or refund:
- Items returned more than 30 days after the delivery date
- Items that show signs of reading, highlighting, or use
- Items returned without original packaging
- Gift cards and digital products
Late or Missing Refunds
If you have not received your refund within 10 business days of our confirmation email, please:
- Check your bank account once more
- Contact your credit card company — it may take a few business days to post to your account
- Contact your bank, as processing times can vary
If you have done all of the above and still have not received your refund, please email us at support@houseofbooks.com and we will investigate.
Cancellations
Orders can be cancelled within 2 hours of being placed, provided they have not yet been dispatched. To cancel, email us immediately with your order number. Once an order has been dispatched, our standard return policy applies.
